about

For more than 20 years, Bridget Ford Hughes has dedicated her professional life to health and fitness. Her practice at the pastures includes massage therapy, yogilates, personal training, and ayurvedic treatments.

A graduate of The Swedish Institute in New York City, Bridget was a massage therapist at Canyon Ranch in Lenox, Massachusetts. Her Pilates certification is through Power Pilates in New York City. She is a dedicated yogini and recently completed a two-year program in ayurveda, the traditional medicine of India, at Kripalu School of Ayurveda in Lenox, Massachusetts.

In 2006, Bridget was diagnosed with breast cancer and through that experience has become a passionate advocate for life-affirming, holistic treatment of the disease. In 2010, she founded the fund now known as the Women’s Cancer Wellness Fund, to provide financial assistance to women with cancer seeking complementary and alternative medicine, and holistic care not covered by their health insurance.

“My mission for the pastures is to help women with cancer through the challenges they face. My own experience showed me how much we need the support of well-informed, dedicated people to assist us at every level of healing — physical, emotional, and spiritual — so we can focus on hope and recovery. This very personal journey helped me formulate the kind of experience I want to be able to share with other women.”
